Beijing Great Wall and Forbidden City tour
We had a great experience with the Great Wall and Forbidden City tour. Our guide, Kevin - was very patient and knowledgeable. The Great Wall was an amazing sight, we were able to walk for about 30 minutes on this tourist-oriented section of the Wall; we were fortunate that the weather was misty and rainy- most days during the summer are very hot and humid. After a lunch nearby, we went on a tour of the Forbidden City; The former palace is a huge area full of history. I highly recommend this tour. more

Hike on the great wall
We booked a hike through Best China Journey, where we hiked an unrestored part of the Great Wall. Our tour guide, Oliver, was very nice and shared a lot of history along the way. The hike was about four hours long and took us through various terrain. It was very beautiful. more

Here is a suggested itinerary. We are happy to customize a tour according to your interests. The time frame is just for your reference. It could be different due to the traffic on the day.
Your private guide will meet you in your hotel lobby at 8:00 am. If you would like to start from the airport/train station, we will be happy to arrange a pick-up there.
A comfortable vehicle with will be ready for your private Jinshanling Great Wall hiking tour. It takes about 2½ hours to travel to the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall from Beijing.
Mount the wall via an unrepaired watchtower called Zhuangduokou. From the first tower at Zhuangduokou onward, you will see the repaired ancient watchtowers and sections of wall during your hike in the first 2 hours.
Stop to take in the amazing view from one of the highest points you will reach during the day. See the Great Wall stretching out to the horizon…
Encounter the wild part of the wall and see many broken watchtowers of various styles in the last 1½ hours of your hike on the Wall.
Arriving at East Five-Eye Tower, you will then descend from the wall. It is possible to hike in the reverse direction.
There is a local restaurant at the base of the entrance to Jinshanling, offering traditional local dishes. Your guide will help you to order the dishes you like.
Going back to your hotel in Beijing normally takes about 2½ hours. Your guide and driver will transfer you to your hotel at the end of the tour. If you need to catch a flight or a train after the tour, we are more than happy to help you arrange it.
