Beijing Great Wall and Forbidden City tour
We had a great experience with the Great Wall and Forbidden City tour. Our guide, Kevin - was very patient and knowledgeable. The Great Wall was an amazing sight, we were able to walk for about 30 minutes on this tourist-oriented section of the Wall; we were fortunate that the weather was misty and rainy- most days during the summer are very hot and humid. After a lunch nearby, we went on a tour of the Forbidden City; The former palace is a huge area full of history. I highly recommend this tour. more

Hike on the great wall
We booked a hike through Best China Journey, where we hiked an unrestored part of the Great Wall. Our tour guide, Oliver, was very nice and shared a lot of history along the way. The hike was about four hours long and took us through various terrain. It was very beautiful. more

According to your schedule, your private guide will wait for you in the arrivals hall at the Beijing Capital Airport, holding a card displaying your name. A comfortable vehicle (non-smoking) with an experienced driver will be ready to begin your tour of the Great Wall at Mutianyu from the airport.
Enjoy your time walking on the Wall at your own pace. Take in the spectacular scenery of the Great Wall snaking along the mountain ridges as far as the eye can see. Your guide's insights will make the stories behind the Wall come to alive: what it cost to build and defend, wars on the wall...
We will also arrange a round-trip cable car to ascend and descend the wall, instead of spending about 40 minutes climbing steps.
Note: We understand you might not have any local currency for this short Beijing layover tour. You also might not have enough time to sit in a restaurant to have lunch. We will prepare soft drinks and snacks (chocolate, chips, and cookies) for you.
We will drive you back to the Beijing Capital Airport. Your personal guide will help you check in and will say goodbye to you at the entrance to the security checkpoint.
